Public Meetings Procedures

The Royalty Review Panel hosted public meetings in Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray and Medicine Hat.

Dates and locations of the meetings

People or organizations who wished to make a presentation at the meetings were encouraged to register in advance to secure a space.

Presenters were allowed to register on the day of the public meeting, if space was available.

Members of the public were welcome to observe the proceedings. Available audience space was filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registered presenters received a confirmation letter, detailing the date and approximate time of their presentation. Presenters were encouraged to develop a written document and provide it to the Royalty Review Secretariat Office for distribution to the panel members in advance of the meeting dates.

Stakeholder groups were given up to 10 minutes to speak in front of the panel, while individuals were given up to 5 minutes. The panel then had time to ask questions or seek further information.

PowerPoint presentations were allowed, provided the Secretariat received those slides in advance of the meeting. An overhead projector was available at the meetings.

All community meetings were recorded and transcribed. Copies of transcripts will be made available to the public through this website.
